S'pore sisters record heartbreaking final moments with kitty that's been with them for 12 years

The pain never really goes away.

A pair of Singaporean sisters named Tiffanie and Michy who produce fun, snappy, Facebook video content with the social media handle TiffwithMi, uploaded a drastically different type of video on Monday (October 28).

The video started rather cheerfully, with the sisters bringing their cat, Lala, for a checkup.

Lala had been getting thinner recently, and the sisters said they initially thought she was just having some appetite problems.

But the vet had terrible news for them. Lala had liver issues.

According to the sisters, there was no cure for Lala, only perhaps taking steps to prolong her life.

Still, they tried to remain optimistic, even starting an impromptu vlog to document her "final journey".

The two said they assumed Lala would be there with them for 10 years.

Even in the midst of the grief, some funny things like the sisters mistaking a mirror for a window occurred.

What seemed to visibly affect them the most, however, was Lala's skinniness.

Michy also talked about how they first got to know Lala.

Even her own allergies to cat fur couldn't stave off her affection for Lala.

And as any cat owner knows, despite their relative aloofness, cats can tell when their owners are sad.

Unfortunately, there was to be no happy ending, with this being one of the final interactions Lala the cat and the sisters had.

You can watch the entire video here — be warned, onions will be sliced.

In case you can't see it.
