One man's revelation about what his dog gets up to when he leaves home tugged the internet's collective heartstrings.

Waited in same position the whole day

In a Facebook post on Oct. 13, 2019, Hsueh Chao Ting from Taiwan shared a photo taken from a pet camera he had installed in his home.

Hsueh revealed that he was curious as to what his dog, Aji, did whenever he left the house.

Probably expecting the pupper to be lounging, sleeping or playing, what he saw definitely surprised him.

In a screenshot of the camera's footage which he posted to a Facebook group for pet owners, Aji can be seen sitting patiently and purposefully right in front of the door, facing the exit.

Almost as if the dog was waiting to welcome Hsueh home.

In the caption, Hsueh wrote "I've always wanted to see what my dogs were doing while I was out. Now after seeing this, I really want to go home!"

In a comment on the post, Hsueh added that Aji apparently stayed in the same position the entire day.

Aji and Socks

Aji's behaviour is in stark contrast to Hsueh's other dog, named Socks, who appears to be much less affectionate and perhaps more lukewarm towards its owner.

In a post on a Facebook page dedicated to Socks and Aji, Hsueh wrote that "Aji is very cute, he follows me no matter where I go".

Aji is pictured right on the heels of Hsueh, whereas Socks is seen snoozing in the background without a care in the world.

Aji was an abandoned dog

In an even more heartwarming twist to the story, it turns out Aji is a rescued dog.

In a separate post, Hsueh shared Aji's tragic backstory.

Hsueh had apparently been walking Socks in August earlier this year, when he found Aji abandoned in a park.

Despite this though, Aji was friendly and had padded over to Socks several times to play.

On another day, Hsueh decided to bring some food for Aji, but the dog was nowhere to be found.

It was only after some hunting around that Hsueh realised Aji was seated by his moped, almost as if waiting for the man to take him home.

When Hsueh climbed onto the moped to return home, Aji climbed on as well, and from then on, was part of the family.
