On Oct. 11, a Singaporean man was arrested by the Malaysian police for allegedly murdering a woman and child.

This case in Melaka was brought to the attention of the Malaysian authorities after a grass-cutter found eight dismembered body parts and lodged a police report.

Allegedly murdered wife in a rage

According to Lianhe Wanbao, the couple got into an argument on Oct. 5, and the wife had apparently threatened divorce.

The husband flew into a rage during their argument.

He allegedly used a kitchen knife to attack her, and then used a parang to chop her head off.

He also allegedly killed his 11-year-old stepson after the boy witnessed the event, and chopped up the bodies of both mother and son.

The body parts were then allegedly packed into bags and loaded onto his vehicle for disposal, The New Paper reported.

Posted birthday wishes on Facebook

Apparently, the couple got married in March 2018.

It was the man's third marriage.

The wife is believed to have been killed around the time the suspect had posted his birthday wishes on Facebook, calling her a "super mum" and wishing her "good health, wellness, strength and success".

Discarded body parts

The eight body parts found by the grass-cutter excluded the heads and hands of the victims.

The hands of the victims were reportedly dumped in a rubbish bin, according to Malaysian newspaper Sin Chew Daily.

The Malaysian daily also reported that two heads were found on the roof of the victim's residence.

The identity of these remains have yet to be confirmed.

Suspect arrested by Singapore police

The suspect had reportedly returned to Singapore on Oct. 8, where he confessed his act to his father, according to Lianhe Wanbao.

He was later arrested by the Singapore police at his place of residence and handed over to Malaysian authorities on Oct. 11.

As of Oct. 13, the suspect is currently detained at the Bandar Hilir Police Station in Malaysia.
