A Singaporean man has been arrested by Malaysian police on Friday, Oct. 11, after he emerged as the prime suspect of a gruesome double murder in Kampung Ladang, Krubong, Melaka.
Eight body parts discovered
Melaka police said that on Oct. 10 that a worker who was cutting grass found eight dismembered body parts and immediately lodged a police report at the Tanjung Minyak police station, reported CNA.
According to Malaysian site World Of Buzz, the 40-year-old villager who found the body parts said that he could smell a strange odour when he was cleaning the ditch on Monday, Oct. 7.
However, he did not think anything of it.
On Thursday, Oct. 10, he was assigned to mow the grass at the same location as there had been complaints about the smell.
That was when he stumbled upon the body parts.
The initial discovery of the remains were originally assumed to be parts belonging to one body.
It was later discovered that the body parts belonged to two different bodies, reported World Of Buzz.
It has since been confirmed by Melaka police that the victims were a 27-year-old woman and an 11-year-old boy.
Investigations ongoing
According to Malaysian newspaper Harian Metro, Melaka police chief Deputy Commissioner Mat Kasim Karim said that the suspect was arrested in Singapore with the assistance of the Singapore Police Force (SPF).
