Three men, aged between 22 and 24, were on Monday and Tuesday arrested in relation to an alleged slashing incident that took place in the vicinity of Marina Bay Sands over the weekend.

According to an extended statement shared with Mothership on Tuesday night, the police said they were alerted to an incident that happened at 1 Bayfront Avenue at 6:16am Sunday (Oct. 27).

The Marquee nightclub, which the parties involved in the incident are believed to have visited prior to the alleged attack, has its address listed at 2 Bayfront Avenue, although it is located within the Marina Bay Sands Shoppes.

Three victims, aged between 25 and 34, were wounded and sent to Singapore General Hospital.

Their three alleged assailants will be charged with voluntarily causing hurt by a dangerous weapon with common intention on Wednesday (Oct. 30) morning.

Following ground enquiries and inspection of nearby CCTV footage, officers from the Central Police Division and Criminal Investigation Department arrested the three suspected assailants in Sembawang and Choa Chu Kang on Monday and Tuesday.

If convicted of their charges, the three will face jail time of up to seven years, as well as fines and caning.

More details emerge online

A screenshot of what appears to be an online Facebook post of the alleged slashing incident, purportedly by one of the victims, claimed that one of them even had his ear cut off in the scuffle.

"A friend of mine got his ear cut off while the other one gotten [sic] a deep cut on his leg that broke the bone of his leg."

Local deejay Jade Rasif posted Instagram stories on Monday (Oct. 28) claiming that a friend of hers was one of the victims:

Police were unable to confirm these additional reported details, citing ongoing investigation into the case.

"The Police have arrested three men, aged between 22 and 24, for their suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon with common intention.

On 27 October 2019 at 6.16am, the Police were alerted to a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon at 1 Bayfront Avenue. Three male victims, aged between 25 and 34, were conscious when conveyed to Singapore General Hospital. Through ground enquiries and with the aid of CCTV footages, officers from Central Police Division and Criminal Investigation Department established the identities of the three men and arrested them along Canberra Drive and Choa Chu Kang Street 51 on 28 and 29 October 2019.

The three men will be charged in court on 30 October 2019 for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon with common intention under Section 324 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. Anyone convicted for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon with common intention may be punished with an imprisonment term up to 7 years, and shall also be liable to fine or to caning."
