The Igorots are a group of people from the Northern provinces of The Philippines. The word Igorot in Tagalog means "mountain people".

They are also known for the high premium they place on nature.

So it comes as little surprise that they would be really invested in environmental issues.

Some of their hunkier representatives from the Tawid Cultural Performing Group did their part to save farmers, and promote thirst at a recent appearance at Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

For obvious reasons, the article on these environmental do-gooders have been shared over 11,000 times in less than a week.

They were there to take part in the Farmers Festival to raise awareness of the plights of farmers and to encourage sustainability and saving the environment.

All while in their traditional Igorot attire.

The group is colloquially known as the "Igorot Hunks".

One of the reasons for their advocacy was their own upbringing.

Their leader, R-jay Falisong, talked about his affinity with farmers.

According to Goodnewspilipinas:

“If you ate today, thank a farmer. Farming is the noblest profession, do you agree? Because without farmers, there will be no food to eat.

I am a proud farmer because my parents are farmers and I was raised in a farming community in the Cordilleras. Growing up in a community that sustainably produce it’s food is a blessing. I witnessed how hard and rewarding farming can be, especially when you produce safe foods for your family."

He also talked about how it was this current generation's duty to practice sustainable and organic farming.
