K-pop star Sulli showed signs of cardiac arrest, investigations ongoing

SM Entertainment urged the public to refrain from speculating about her death.

Former K-pop girl group f(x) member, Sulli, was found dead in her apartment on Oct. 14, 2019.

The sudden passing has drawn many speculations over her death.

Found signs of cardiac arrest

However, according to a representative from Seongnam Fire Department, Sulli died when the paramedics arrived at her apartment at around 3:30pm in Seongnam's Shimgok-dong neighbourhood.

The paramedics also noted "signs of cardiac arrest and post-death paralysis", according to Allkpop and Koreaboo.

The paramedics were alerted to the case by her manager who last spoke to her on Oct. 13, but had not heard from Sulli since 6pm that day.

It was reported that a handwritten note was found in the apartment.

The police confirmed that it is not a suicide note and investigations are ongoing.

Statement from Sulli's agency

Sulli's managing agency, SM Entertainment, has also released a statement urging members of the public to avoid speculation and spreading of rumours.

We are sorry to tell everyone the sorrowful and sad news. Sulli has left us.

We cannot believe the situation, and we are simply in a state of grief.

Please refrain from spreading speculative articles or rumors in respect of the bereaved’s family who are saddened by the sudden tragedy. We express our deepest condolences to the deceased, who went on their final path.
