Editors note: A Funan representative has contacted Mothership with the following statement.

“The leases with Project Pizza and Twelve Cupcakes are active. The company behind Project Pizza is remodelling their kiosk for a different F&B concept, Crave Nasi Lemak.

Poke Pro has announced its closure and we are in advanced discussions with prospects for the kiosk. More details on the new concept will be shared in due course.”

Funan Mall might have just recently opened its doors on June 28, but apparently, there have already been some casualties.

Signs of kiosks folding were first broached on an EDMW thread, which said that some kiosks closed less than four months after the mall opened.

When Mothership went down to Funan Mall's basement, three kiosks appeared to have closed permanently.

However according to a Funan representative, the two leases with the company behind Project Pizza and 12 Cupcakes are still active.

The two kiosks in question are:

Here's Project Pizza's announcement that it had closed on September 30.

Despite the announcement on their Facebook page, a representative from Funan has clarified that the lease with the company behind Project Pizza is still ongoing.

Twelve Cupcakes has removed Funan from its list of shops on their website.

However they are apparently still under lease with Funan, and will remodel their kiosk "for a different F&B concept, Crave Nasi Lemak".

The people Mothership spoke to around the area revealed that Twelve Cupcakes stopped operating a few weeks ago. A representative from Funan understands that the kiosk was still operating in August.

They did speculate that it could have something to do with rental costs, but couldn't be sure.

Mothership has reached out to some of the affected stores and Funan for comment.
