22-year-old man charged for killing 56-year-old woman in Commonwealth double death case

He will be warded three weeks for psychiatric assessment.

The police were alerted to a case of two unnatural deaths at 7:24pm on Oct. 27.

Two women, aged 56 and 90, were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at Block 7A Commonwealth Avenue.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force also confirmed that two other persons were sent to the National University Hospital.

A 22-year-old suspect was arrested and the case was classified as a murder.

Charged with murder of 56-year-old woman

The suspect, Gabriel Lien Goh, was charged for murdering 56-year-old Lee Soh Mui on Oct. 28, according to The Straits Times.

Lee is believed to be his mother while the 90-year-old deceased is believed to be Goh's grandmother.

He will be warded three weeks for psychiatric assessment before appearing in court again on Nov. 18.

Members of the public told a The Straits Times reporter that Goh was attacking some people on the ground floor of the block.

He appeared to be very aggressive and shouted, "Call the government to talk to me."

It took four people to subdue him and pin him on the ground before the police arrived.
