Three Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers were charged today (Oct. 18) with engaging in a conspiracy to intentionally obstruct the course of justice, according to a CNA report.

Accused of switching urine sample

The three officers are:

  • Staff Sergeant Abdul Rahman Kadir, 43
  • Staff Sergeant Mohamed Hafiz Lan, 41
  • Sergeant Muhammad Zuhairi Zainuri, 31

According to CNA, all three were accused of tampering with a urine sample belonging to a man named Maung Moe Min.

This was to allow him to pass a urine test.

Hafiz allegedly replaced the urine sample with his own urine at a toilet in Woodlands Checkpoint on Aug. 16, 2018.

Referred to CPIB for investigations

CNB stated in a separate news release on Oct. 18 that they have discovered possible acts of misconduct by three officers.

The matter was immediately referred to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) for investigations.

CNB also provided full cooperation to CPIB during its investigations.

CNB said that they take  "serious view of all complaints or allegations" against their officers, and do not condone any act of misconduct.
