From Sep. 23, 2019, passengers purchasing tickets directly from Scoot will no longer have to pay payment processing fees.

A payment processing fee of up to S$20 was previously applied to customers buying air tickets with a credit card.

Fees removed on all direct bookings

Scoot has announced the removal of payment processing fees globally for all bookings made on its direct channels.

Customers may now use global payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Paypal, credit cards, and local payment methods such as AXS and PayNow without a fee.

Customers based overseas who use region specific payment methods such as WeChat Pay and Alipay will also have their fees waived.

Began removing fees in certain markets since 2018

From March 2018, Scoot began progressively removing payment processing fees in selected markets, beginning with Europe.

In Aug. 2019, fees for selected local payment methods, such as AXS (for customers locally) and Konbini (for customers in Japan), were removed.

In addition, Momo, an e-wallet and mobile payment app launched in late August 2019 for customers in Vietnam also has zero payment processing fees.
