A heroine has emerged from Tuas South Avenue 5.
Facebook user Pasumpon Durai shared a clip of a group of men standing at the side of the road with a truck that had caught on fire.
Enter the SBS bus captain, who exited her bus urgently, with a fire extinguisher in tow
Extinguished flames within seconds
In the video, the bus captain could be seen running towards the men, before plunking down the fire extinguisher.The men seemed like they were still discussing how to put out the fire, with one of them pointing to the inflamed area while the other standing around it.
She immediately grabbed the nozzle of the fire extinguisher and doused the truck with the contents of the can thoroughly.
Within seconds, the fire was put out, and the men crowded around her, looking impressed while checking the truck.
Once the situation has returned to normal, the bus captain heaved a sigh of relief and turned back, returning to her business.
Not without turning her head briefly, just to check that the fire was put out, though.
Apologised to passengers for delay
According to Durai, the bus captain apologised to her passengers for delaying their journey by five minutes.
However, other Facebook users had nothing but praise for her valiant effort.
One called for her to be rewarded.
While others were just impressed at how calm-headed she was, throughout the entire incident.
