A Kazakhstani schoolgirl died after a phone charging next to her exploded.

She had fallen asleep while the phone was still plugged in to the charger.

Alua Asetkyzy Abzalbek had been listening to music on her phone beside her as she drifted off to sleep.

Unfortunately the phone had overheated in the night, eventually exploding.

According to the Daily Mail, the girl was left with severe head injuries. Even though relatives immediately called the paramedics once they had discovered the incident, it was too late.

Alua was pronounced dead on the spot.

According to The Sun, these were the charred remnants of the exploding phone.
