If you have ever caught yourself thinking "wah, Starbucks quite expensive ah" no fret, everyone probably thinks that as well.
But Singaporeans probably think that more than all but seven other countries (in a survey of 76 countries).
Australian personal finance website, Finder, came up with a ranking of the most expensive countries to get a Starbucks.
Here are the top 18 countries in terms of the price of a tall Starbucks latte.
Singapore is 8th on that list. It is the second highest-priced Starbucks in Asia, with Hong Kong one spot, or US$0.10 (S$0.14), above it.
The cheapest place to get a cup of Starbucks is Turkey, coming in at an almost affordable US$1.78 (S$2.46).
The Finder study takes into consideration two components. The cost of a coffee, and the currency valuation index of the country.
Which basically means they weighted the actual cost of a cup of coffee against the wages (as reflected in the Gross Domestic Products (GDP)).
