A 61-year-old adult and a young girl were hit by a white Honda while crossing the pedestrian crossing in Bukit Batok.
The pedestrians had the right of way at that time.
Footage of the incident has been shared on various social media platforms and spread on chat apps.
Police said the accident took place at the junction of Bukit Batok East Avenue 6 and Bukit Batok Street 23 at 5.34pm on Thursday, Sept. 5.
The white car was making a discretionary right turn when it mowed the two pedestrians down.
From the footage, the pedestrians had the right of way as the traffic light green man was still flashing when the accident happened.
The adult and child also appeared to have been trying to make their way across the road swiftly as they were shuffling in double time.
Impact
The adult pedestrian was thrown onto the bonnet of the car before being flung onto the road.
At the moment of impact and right after that, the adult was still holding hands with the little girl.
The child narrowly missed being run over by the car's front tire, but was momentarily dragged across the road.
Wailing
Right after the accident, the wailing of a young child can be heard in the video.
The driver then exited the white Honda to check on the pedestrians and at least one passer-by in the vicinity ran to the aid of the pedestrians.
The man was conveyed conscious to the National University Hospital.

Discretionary right turns
Discretionary right turns were put on the national agenda after a high-profile accident in 2018.
A petition was then set up to call for its ban in Singapore.
A Nominated Member of Parliament, Lim Sun Sun, also spoke up about scrapping discretionary right turns after she was hit by a bus as a result.
