If you are a fan of Makoto Shinkai's works — specifically, Your Name and Weathering With You — this is a good chance to get related merchandise at a relatively affordable price.

The collection

From August 19, 2019, T-Shirts bearing the animated films' motifs will be available on Uniqlo's website as part of their early launch.

The collection will be available in stores from August 26.

The films

Released in 2016, Your Name received critical acclaim for its animation and "emotional impact".

The film tells the story of a teenage boy and girl who magically swap bodies. This is a gross simplification of the plot.

In January 2017, it overtook Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away as the highest-grossing anime film of all time.

Weathering with You is Shinkai's new film released on July 2019 in Japan.
