Despite its relatively steep price, Man Man Japanese Unagi Restaurant remains a popular option among Singaporeans.
But UnaUna, a unagi speciality restaurant that has just opened in Bugis+, looks like a fierce competitor.

Three sizes
For one, their charcoal-grilled unagi hitsumabushi starts from S$9.80.
This would usually cost around S$25 - S$35 in other restaurants.
If you're not familiar with it, charcoal-grilled unagi hitsumabushi is chopped grilled eel on rice that can be enjoyed three ways:
- By itself.
- With condiments such as nori, wasabi, and spring onions.
- With clear dashi added to the mix.
At UnaUna, the unagi is grilled twice over controlled temperatures and with an in-house sauce.
If you would like a bigger serving, a regular bowl costs S$14.80, while a double portion is S$19.80.
