Aunties, uncles take note.

Lee Hsien Loong held the National Day Rally on August 18, 2019.

During the retirement age portion of the night, PM Lee took aim at general messages claiming that the CPF withdrawal age will be delayed once again.

He reiterated himself, making sure to get his message across.

"We are not making any changes to CPF withdrawal policies or CPF withdrawal ages."

And that anyone who might claim the withdrawal age is going up, is perhaps not the most trustworthy.

"Please ignore him, or her."

"If it comes to you from WhatsApp from your friend, please delete it and tell your friend."

He stated that sharing it with more people will just confuse people further.

Before jokingly saying that if they did not refrain from doing so, "POFMA will catch you".

While yes, please don't send chain messages over WhatsApp, here's a more detailed explainer on POFMA.

Retirement/ re-employment age rises

Although the CPF withdrawal age will not be changed, the retirement age and re-employment age has gone up.

In 2022, the retirement age will be raised from 62 to 63, while the re-employment age will be raised from 67 to 68.

This will be implemented earlier in the public service (2021), as the government is a major employer.

The age of retirement will be pegged at 65, and the re-employment age pegged at 70 by 2030.

The government will prepare a support package for businesses to adjust to the new changes, with DPM Heng Swee Keat making the full announcement for Budget 2020.

Here's a summary of the night.
