What were you doing on March 24.?
If you cannot remember, this was the frontpage of The Straits Times on that day.
It was a day after the passing of founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.
Blogger Grace Tan somehow decided that 24 Mar was the most appropriate time to send an email to Law Minister Shanmugam, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and the two Deputy Prime Ministers.
Her email was to highlight the abuse of the protection from harassment act by prominent blogger Xiaxue and the cumbersome procedures in applying for a protection order.
Tan was aware of Lee's passing, for she changed her Facebook photo on 23 Mar.
On 24 Mar, PM Lee visited the tribute sites at the entrance of the Istana and was probably busy hosting visitors at his father's private wake in Sri Temasek.

Granted, government services should not shut down even in crises or emergencies.
But citizens like Tan can show some empathy to PM and the Ministers in a time where there was emotional distress over Lee's passing.
Because readers are bound to be less sympathetic to Tan's calls for empathy and sympathy now, when she complained about Xiaxue for distracting Tan's public speaking work in Malaysia by intentionally posting the protection saga about Tan.
