Update: Mar 18. 2250Hrs: The PMO website is accessible again.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) website, which has provided Singaporeans with regular updates of Mr Lee Kuan Yew's health over the past month, crashed at 9.50pm.
The website stated that "it is currently undergoing planned maintenance, and some pages may not be available".
It could be due to a fake statement about Mr Lee Kuan Yew that got Singaporeans rushing to logon to the PMO website.

In fact, the website was accessible this afternoon, with PMO releasing its latest statement today and noting that Lee's health has deteriorated even further.
Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong urged Singaporeans last month (Feb.28) to go by the official statements from the government:
"It's not that people rumour-monger on purpose. (But) in the absence of announcements and given the condition of Mr Lee, people always expect something may happen to him suddenly...But I would advise people to go by official statement from the PMO. If there's no statement, there's nothing much to worry about."
Perhaps too many Singaporeans are heeding his advice this evening.
