There has been a doctored photograph circulating on the Internet showing the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) website declaring the passing of Mr Lee Kuan Yew.
It has been proven to be false and the PMO has lodged a police report over this fake photograph.
This may have led to several international news agencies breaking the news of Lee's passing without verification with the PMO.

There has been no official update on Lee's health status since the last one earlier in the day noting that his condition has deteriorated. The PMO website is currently unavailable, possibly due to a surge in web traffic.
