More than S$1,600 raised for scammed Vietnamese tourist on Indiegogo in 54 minutes

Holy moly. Singapore is really an efficient country.

Within 54 minutes of this article "S’porean turns to crowdfunding to raise S$1,250 to buy scammed Vietnamese tourist an iPhone 6" being published, people in Singapore, and probably elsewhere as well, raised some S$1,600 on crowdfunding site Indiegogo in a donation campaign to buy the Vietnamese tourist a new iPhone 6 after he got scammed at Sim Lim Square.

The target of US$1,350, or approximately S$1,687, was completely crossed in less than one hour.

The original duration of fundraising was expected to last some one week.

The fundraising was so fast, this is a typical reaction from donors:
