Mothership Q&A: A glimpse of actress Hayley Woo

If age was not an issue, Hayley would like Li Nan Xing to star as her love interest.

If you find Hayley Woo familiar, that's because you've been seeing her twice.

In That Girl In Pinafore (2013), Hayley and her identical twin sister Jayley Woo, 22, acted as, well, twin sisters in the movie, donning the same hairstyle and outfits, and finishing each other's sentences so often you could hardly tell them apart.

Yet, in real life, one sister has soared in popularity, while the other has yet to make much headway in the entertainment industry.

Their Twitter accounts offer a clear enough indication.

Jayley, the younger twin by a mere five minutes, has more than 21,800 followers on her account, while older sister Hayley, has around 8,800 followers in comparison.

Last year, Jayley was named Babe Of The Year in The New Paper Flame Awards 2013, an annual list of the most memorable and influential celebrities over the year, as decided by public votes.

Maybe the public prefers their female celebrities with short hair. Or perhaps the male fans thought they stood a better chance with Jayley after her very public break-up.

Mothership.sg caught up with happily attached Hayley Woo to talk about, yeah, everything.

1. Share with us your role in the movie, Filial Party. How many times have you watched it?

The first time was at the Gala Premiere, together with the star-studded cast. 2nd time was with my dear #stitchies of Hayleycopters. 3rd and 4th was together with my close bunch of supportive friends!

So a total of 4 times. :)

My role in the movie is a teenage KPOP fanatic girl, who calls herself Yoona Zhuang. Typically what you will see on many girls' Instagram / Twitter pages these days, copying the names of the popular KPOP stars that they idolise.

The way she dresses herself is very loud and super colourful. Character-wise, she's also a very self-centered person. All she thinks is about herself and the whole world revolves around her; everything MUST go her way. Even forces her parents to dress and speak like her, with all the "DAEBAK, HWAITING!"

The reason why she wanted to join the game show is because she wanted to go to NYU to study cos most of her friends are going overseas to study. She didn't want to feel left out so she told her parents. Being overly spoilt and doting their only daughter, the parents gave in and decided to participate in the game show.

2. We recently interviewed Ann Kok. How do you find your co-star?

It's very surreal for me to be able to work on the same project with a veteran such as herself!!!!

Never thought I will be able to have the chance to be part of this star-studded cast! All the praying before leaving house must be working! Haha.

Sadly, I didn't really have much interaction with Ann's character. Only until the shooting of the semi-finals and finals day. She's a very real and friendly person!

3. On a scale of 1-10, how will you rate your sister Jayley in terms of attractiveness?

I would say 7. :)

4. How can we differentiate between the both of you? Have the both of you pretended to be each other like during filming or auditions?

By the length of our hair, our face shape and our personalities! :P

HAHAHAHAHA, haven't had the chance to! But honestly, we aren't as alike as you think we are!

5. You mentioned in your blog that your passion is in singing and dancing. What is your favourite Mandarin, English and Korean song?

I'm leaning more towards the singing side. Not much of a dancer unless you mean 同手同脚~ (Move hands, moves legs) :P

Favourite song at the moment....? Only 1?? Tough choice... Hmmmm!

Mandarin: Kenny 邱鋒澤 - 你還好嗎 +

English: Little Mix - Little Me

Korean: 전효성 (JUNHYOSEONG) - Good-night Kiss & EXO - Overdose

6. You blogged about your boyfriend. It is quite rare for celebrities to talk about their private lives, is there a reason you do it differently?

To me, I feel there's no need to hide. If it's about having more fans, I believe my fans will like and support me for the way I am, regardless of whether I'm attached or not. :)

Ever since I've started blogging, I'm kinda like an open book. Jotting down my thoughts and what goes on in my life online since 2006. It will be weird if I suddenly stopped mentioning my boyfriend. I think people will start to wonder if we've broken up! Hahaha~

7. If we have to describe Jayley Woo in five words, what would they be?

Positive, determined, energetic, amiable, hardworking!

8. If you could go back in time to star in any MediaCorp drama, which one would it be and why?

Yang Guo and Xiao Long Nu! It will be super cool to be XLN, DONT YOU THINK?!?! HAHAHAHA

9. If age was not an issue, which MediaCorp actor would you like to star as your love interest, and why?

Meaning to say I will need to pick someone much older than me? ;P

Hmm... Li Nan Xing? Hahaha
