Man, 65, found dead in Pang Sua Pond at Bukit Panjang on Sep. 9

Preliminary investigations do not suspect foul play.

A 65-year-old man was found dead in Pang Sua Pond at Bukit Panjang on Sep. 9.

In response to Mothership's queries, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that they received a call at around 5am for assistance at 101 Bukit Panjang Road.

Upon SCDF's arrival, there was no sign of the person.

Divers from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) were deployed to perform an underwater search and they subsequently retrieved a body about 30m from the shore.

The person was pronounced dead by an SCDF paramedic.

Preliminary investigations do not suspect foul play, the police added.

Police investigations are ongoing.
