The famed Bishan-Ang Mo Kio otters were momentarily dethroned as the cutest animals in Singapore when a baby squirrel was spotted with its mother along the MacRitchie Nature Trail.
Photographer Nick Baker (he's a pretty cool dude who also runs this site) first heard the baby squeaking and saw it flicking its tail fervently.
Minutes later, it was joined its mother, making squeaky noises of her own. The mother then carried her infant to the safety of a taller tree, but the stubborn little squirrel soon found its way near the ground. There, it attracted the attention of an olive-backed sunbird. Resigned to the fate of dealing with an impetuous child, the mother joined it to watch out for its safety.
