Singapore's Public Prosecutor has recommended that four out of the six convicted City Harvest Church leaders be sentenced to between 11 and 12 years in jail, The Straits Times reported.

They were last month found guilty of varying counts of criminal breach of trust and falsifying accounts after misusing more than $50 million in church funds.

The four leaders are:

- Church founder Kong Hee, 51

- Deputy senior pastor Tan Ye Peng, 43

- Former CHC finance manager Serina Wee, 38, and

- Former CHC fund manager Chew Eng Han, 55.

Lighter sentences were recommended for the remaining two leaders, who are:

- Former CHC finance committee member John Lam, 47, is to be jailed for eight to nine years.

- Former CHC finance manager Sharon Tan, 40, is to receive the lightest sentence of five to six years.

Written submissions on sentencing were handed in to the court on Nov. 6 by the prosecution.

The earliest date for the court to pass a sentence is this Friday, Nov. 20, when the six are due back in court for oral submissions on sentencing.

So far, only Kong and Chew have indicated that they are likely to appeal.

A maximum cumulative jail sentence of 20 years can be handed out to them, in addition to fines.

Following their conviction on all charges on Oct. 21, bail of $1 million was extended to Kong, Tan, Chew and Lam, while bail was set at $750,000 for Sharon Tan and Wee, who had her bail amount raised from $500,000 previously.

All six posted bail, and have been barred from travelling overseas.
