As Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew tidies up his desk at the Ministry, we'd like to pay tribute to the two-term politician with an unfortunate name.
We admit we directed our fare fair share of jibes at the Transport Minister over the past year when we experienced more public transport woes:
But we agree with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who told Lui that "the responsibility of Government was a collective one, and no minister carried difficult problems like public transport alone".
Anyway, here is a tribute to the man who had enough of the online brick bats. And unflattering gifs.
He approved of the PTC to lower transport fares, months after implementing a hike.
2.8 percent hike in April. Lowered by 1.9% from December 2015. #math
Has it got to do with his mathematics?
“I still remember my Sec 4 mid-year exams, I looked at the maths paper, additional maths, and I said goodness gracious, I’m in big trouble. I ended up with a C6. Today you would say it is disastrous.” Nov 1, 2013, The Straits Times
The 54-year-old also proves that he doesn't have a good relationship with the camera.
And the camera doesn't seem to like him too, judging from his potato cam-quality photos.
He garners lots of attention in real life.
And has a super-active Facebook page.

Many poke fun at him.
But he's more "extremely concerned" about the frequent breakdowns.
His departure means that there's one less uniquely Singapore phrase to say when the trains breakdown.
But some edmwers actually like him.
So it's with a heavy heart that we will have to bid him a fond farewell.
And let's thank him for delivering (a part of) the Downtown Line in double quick time.
