GE2015 lai liao. You have to vote on Sept 11.

Nomination Day will be on September 1. Really lai liao.

The Writ of Election has been issued, and Nomination Day has been fixed for September 1.

After nine days of campaigning (one less than in previous elections), Singapore will go to the polls on September 11, a Friday — also a first in some time, given that it was widely speculated for the election to take place on September 12, a Saturday.

Cooling-off day, therefore, will take place on September 10, a Thursday.

And yes, this also means we'll have an extra public holiday on Friday (woohoo!).

Earlier on Tuesday, Parliament was dissolved.

Here's the official announcement:

The'>
President has issued the Writ of Election for General Election 2015. Nomination Day will be on 1 Sep, and Polling Day is set to take place on 11 Sep. #sgelections
