Overexposed naval divers featured in yet another training exposé, this time by Cyberpioneer

Multi-week video series will show how boys get turned in Frogmen without the Jack Neo theatrics.

The combat naval divers from the formidable Naval Diving Unit are back.

Well, they've never really left us, have they? After The Straits Times did an in-depth exposé of Hell Week in July 2014, the divers have lingered in our consciousness ever since.

This time, it is Cyberpioneer's turn to wax brutal about how tough the naval diver training is in what they promise is a multi-week feast for the eyes and the soul of tortured bodies and serious fetishisation of a particular military vocation.

Here is the first video of the series out on Facebook:

GRIT - The Making of a Naval Diver [EP 1 : The Chosen]

Fresh out of Basic Military Training, these select few must now step up to a higher level and prepare to experience some of the toughest training in the Republic of Singapore Navy 24-week Combat Diver Course (CDC). Only those who have passed through the crucible of the CDC may join the ranks of the elite Naval Diving Unit. Hooya!

Not that this is the first time the spotlight has been trained on NDU personnel.

You can compare this current 2015 effort with an earlier video also by Cyberpioneer from 2010, where the training approach appears more sadistic -- and a time where divers could still run around camp without any top on.

As usual, enjoy.
