No pun intended.

BreadTalk has apologised for its bad pun bun campaign and admitted that the campaign "was insensitive in light of the current context".

Below is the post in question:

The newly created bun was called “李不开你” – a pun which means “can’t leave you”.

To make things worse, BreadTalk decided to remove the offending post without explanation.

Now that BreadTalk has apologised, it said that it would still make good its promise and donate $30,000 to Community Chest.

We'>
would like to convey our deepest apologies with regard to the commemorative bun #rememberingLKY which was introduced...

Anyway. we have a suggestion for BreadTalk - why not provide free buns to the people who are queuing up to pay their last respects to Lee Kuan Yew?

That'll be a good way to support Singaporeans in "remembering his legacy".
