Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) announced on its Facebook post that it has dismissed Filipino nurse Ello Ed Mundsel Bello immediately for his offensive online comments.

Bello's Facebook comments that surfaced and went viral last week angered many Singaporeans online.

The FB posts called Singaporeans "loosers" (losers), with one post calling for "disators (disasters)" to "strike Singapore". The police are still investigating what Bello has reported as a hack into his Facebook account.

TTSH said that during its investigations, it found three earlier online posts by Bello that were "highly irresponsible and offensive to Singapore and religion".

It added that the hospital takes "a very serious view and have zero tolerance on conduct that is offensive and detrimental to multi-cultural harmony in Singapore."
