It has been a while since Singaporeans have been hyped up over a Miss Universe Singapore winner. In fact, Singaporeans are so disinterested in pageantry that Mediacorp stopped airing the competition years ago.
So when we realised the amount of attention surrounding Rathi Menon, Miss Universe Singapore 2014, we know this chick is a big deal.
Rathi is a glowing, (400 cc super four) motorcycle riding, animal saving, 23 year old pharmacy technician with a lot of sass.
Her fashion game is on point and has been spotted in the “pageant spotlight” for best dressed.
She’s probably the only person who could carry off this Chindian (a questionable crop top cheongsam wrapped in sari?) costume and still look like a beauty queen (not look like a dancer performing at NDP).
She has no modelling background whatsoever but sure do know how to rock a cat walk:
If she’s not strutting down the catwalk, she gets from place to place in a 400 cc super four motorbike.
And, to make you go aww here’s Rathi saving animals
oh and here is Rathi with a cat:
This gal has got the brains, the sass, the compassion and the looks, she truly could be Singapore’s Wonder Woman. Even the national costume designed by Venezuelan designer Alejandro Fajardo Diaz is reminiscent of a super hero warrior princess!
Rathi Menon: Fighting for #justice #peace #progress #democracy one pageant at a time!
It has been a while since Singapore made any mark in the Miss Universe pageant.
In 1987, Miss Singapore Universe Marion Nicole Teo came in at the 9th place.
And many are hopeful that Rathi will break the 28-year dry spell.
Miss Universe airs this Sunday, 25th Jan.
