5 moments that prove Singaporeans are the most impatient people on the planet

Patience? What's that?

1. When we hurry to close the HDB elevator door on our neighbours.

"Hurry hurry, the guy is coming. Close the door, close the door!"

Awww, come on. Don't pretend you haven't done it.

2. When we speed up to prevent another car from switching lanes.

"I'm not going to let you change lanes. Because you signalled."

Because one car in front of you is one car too many. Hey, we're busy people, you know?

 3. When we crowd around the table and stare at people having their food.

stare

"Hurry up, leh. You think people don't need to eat, is it?"

It's so damn stressful.

4. When you find that 'patience' was listed under the most valued qualities employers are looking for from 2002 - 2014.

Really? Nope. But a list by a certain employer put these 7 at the top.

1. Loyalty to Country

2. Leadership

3. Discipline

4. Professionalism

5. Fighting Spirit

6. Ethics

7. Care for Soldiers Staff

8. Safety

Patience is not a virtue. At least not in Singapore.

5. When we rush into trains and screw up the schedule

Besides being sandwiched by train doors and looking like a fool, you also made everyone on the train wait while the doors free you from further embarrassment. That's like 10 seconds lost. Oh, and we heard that you might even damage train doors by squeezing yourself into trains. You might even drop an earring and cause train delays. True story.

That's the thing about rushing into things - you mess things up.

Okay, we might have exaggerated. At least no Singaporean has opened an emergency plane door because he/she was too impatient to get off the plane.

At least not yet.
