Long story short: A group of construction workers rescued a cat from near drowning on Dec. 11. 2014, just outside the HomeTeamNS at Bukit Batok.

This is what the Facebook user, Yvonne Hairstyles, wrote in Chinese, translated to English:

I was on my way home from work when I heard the cries of a kitten. I looked back and did not see the kitten nearby. I followed the kitten's cries and that was when I saw that a kitten was trapped in a drain. The water was rising and would soon wash the kitten away. Oh no, I felt helpless as the kitten looked at me with its pleading eyes to save its life. I was trying to figure out a way to save the kitten when I saw a few construction workers who were done with their work and on the way home. I asked for their help and a few brave ones went into the drain and saved the kitten. I was too frantic at the start of the ordeal to film the rescue. Everyone at the scene felt immense happiness from within.

Thank god for his mercy.

I posted the video to share the love. Society today is too realistic and there is no compassion and even that has gotten to me. We can't pretend to not see what we see -- it was a natural reaction (wanting to save the cat). Humans and animals are alike, our hearts will be moved to act when we see each other in need.

Faith in humanity restored.
