Both Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Foreign Minister K Shanmugam had commented about the missing AirAsia flight QZ 8501 on Facebook.
Minister K Shanmugam was the first on social media, revealing that he had "just spoken to Indonesia's Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi on the situation".
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who is currently overseas in Spain, said that Singapore have offered their help to the Indonesian authorities.
The Singapore authorities had already offered their help and support to the Indonesia authorities for their search and rescue operations.
The Singapore Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC), managed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) had been activated, with two C130s already on stand-by.
