S-League Awards Night featured pole-dancing, becomes Ass League

This is the most exciting part of the whole season.

The S-League Awards Night took place on Nov. 9, 2014 at the ITE College East.

This end-of-the-season awards ceremony is meant to honour the league's best teams and players for their indefatigable spirit in upholding the professionalism and integrity of the nation's only football competition.

For example, 30-year-old national goalkeeper Hassan Sunny became the first goalkeeper to win the Player of the Year Award.

He had kept seven clean sheets that helped his team Warriors FC clinch their record ninth league title.

But this year, it was also where the CEO of the S-League, Lim Chin, got booed and things took an incongruous turn as pole-dancers were featured during the awards ceremony.

Three nubile young things spreadeagled was not to the liking of everyone present, especially considering this was supposed to be a family-friendly night and there were kids in the audience.

Some of the reactions from the Awards Night that voiced the audience's displeasure at the performance -- and the entire awards ceremony, in general -- were first published in the blog, The Ass League, where you can also catch an extended video of the pole dancers:
