Uploaded on YouTube on Oct. 20, 2014, with the excuse that it is for Halloween, a supposedly edgy prank video featuring a man wearing a mask and wandering the streets of Singapore with a parang has failed to be a hit.

Instead of becoming an overnight sensation and winning the love of the Internet, the prank filmed by a new web video outfit known as MerlionTV received responses panning it that ranged from "lame" to "too scary" and "not culturally relevant".
But not as if this will deter them.
In the YouTube comments section, MerlionTV responded:
Thanks for all the support from our fellow Singaporeans! We will do our best with CRAZIER pranks!!! PLEASE STAY TUNE TO THIS CHANNEL, MORE WILL BE COMING!!!
Here's an idea: What would be really scary and hilarious at the same time is if they dressed up as Communists and go to Hong Lim Park and advocate for "I Love CPF".
I'd pay to watch that.
