PM Lee stops short of describing himself as Superman

Leader. Storyteller. Superman?

At the same lecture on Oct. 3, 2014 where PM Lee Hsien Loong was being snarky, he almost hinted that he is Superman.

He was responding to a run-of-the-mill question by a member of the National University of Singapore Society (NUSS) on the qualities that a Singapore leader should have.

PM answered, "Everything" and continued:

"You have to be nice, you must be firm, you must be able to hug babies, you must be able to go to war..."

And moderator of the Q&A session Tommy Koh chimed in: "Superman".

However, he conceded that no one leader can be like that and that's why it is necessary for him to have a good team. The Straits Times wrote:

"I know the next team will have good ministers and I hope among them they'll be able to produce a leader whom they will support and whom Singaporeans would also similarly support and in time develop a bond with," he said.

Sounds like The Avengers.

In another event, he turned into accomplished storyteller and according to The Straits Times, even chirped like a lizard for dramatic effect. He was reading a story book "Go To Sleep, Gecko" to 120 children at a National Library Board reading programme.

Seems like only Supermans need apply.
