It was announced on Oct. 8, 2014, that veteran thespian Lim Kay Tong will be cast as Singapore's former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, in the dramatic thriller 1965, a decision that received industry-wide approval.
MediaCorp Channel 5's period sentimental-lots-of-feels drama Growing Up had -- some 16 years ago -- predicted that one fine day, veteran thespian Lim Kay Tong will play ex-prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.
The opening credits featured a montage where a scene with Lee Kuan Yew in spectacles transitioned straightaway to a portrait of Lim Kay Tong.
