Tampines resident sent photo of a lonely half-filled water bottle to Town Council to complain, instead of just throwing it away

Lee Kuan Yew once said that Singaporeans are champion grumblers. Maybe we have evolved into whiners now.

In an otherwise slow news day, this thing propped up on the social media.

Long story short, a resident from Tampines sent an email to his MP Baey Yam Keng about a half-filled water bottle that was left "dangerously on the staircase handrail for two weeks".

He also attached a picture of said water bottle into an email to Baey, saying he "has had enough of the town council".

But after a thorough investigation, Baey concluded that the guy is a troll and "have instructed the town council to ignore him from now on until he changes his behaviour".

This reminds me of that fish ball stick incident mentioned by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during this year's National Day Rally.

Yes, that same fish ball stick that arrowed Grace Fu to head the Municipal Services Office.

If someone is free enough to alert the different authorities on a stranded fish ball stick, and in the case of that Tampines troll resident, who - despite being witness to the discovery of a water bottle of mass destruction - took his precious time to take a picture and draft an elaborate email, surely they could do their civic duties and pick up the stick and bottle.

Maybe he has better things to do, like writing wordy complaint letters and taking photos of inanimate objects.
