Singapore Civil Defence Force winning at social media again

This is what is called real time engagement.

On Aug. 19, 2014, someone possessing a strong sense of self-entitlement complained on Facebook that a Singapore Civil Defence Force ambulance trying to save a life was in the way of him dropping off his kids at the shelter as it was raining.

His post earned the ire of the Internet as it was reposted in forums and on social media.

Some time earlier this year, in January 2014, we had pointed out that the Singapore Civil Defence Force is awesome with social media.

Well, here's another reason why: After the irrational self-entitled post appeared and in the midst of all the name-calling and witch-hunting, SCDF took to Facebook almost immediately to explain, without fuss and without being preachy or sounding like they are berating, what happened:

Putting across a public service announcement and demonstrating that they have social media clout at the same time.
