These pop ditties will really improve the mood.

From end-July to end-October 2014, buskers will be performing inside five MRT stations in Singapore: Eunos, Bukit Batok, Jurong East, Raffles Place and City Hall.

This initiative is by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the National Arts Council (NAC) and SMRT to make commuting on crowded trains a tad more palatable.

However, to really serve the public's need for music on the go, buskers can up their game and bring relevant songs to the masses.

Instead of playing the same songs they always played, buskers can learn to perform the most appropriate songs at the right times to really make people feel better.

Here are 10 songs buskers can learn to play that are relevant and help take the MRT experience to greater heights:

1. The Beatles: Ticket To Ride

When you buy a ticket from the standard ticket ticketing machine, a busker will show up and start playing one of the most recognisable riffs in the universe.

2. Nirvana: Something In The Way

When annoying people block the walkway or escalator, the busker will serenade them with this song and hint for them to get lost.

Or when something really gets in the way and the escalator can't function, for example.

3. Ludacris: Move Bitch (Get Out The Way)

This song is reserved for annoying people who don't keep left on the escalator and the train is here.

4. Katy Perry: The One That Got Away

And this is for when commuters miss the train as a result.

5. Stealers Wheel: Stuck In The Middle With You

With long waiting times, this tune reminds everyone that the platform is getting crowded and you're stuck in the middle.

6. U2: Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of

This is played when the previous song ended and you're still stuck on the platform because the sign board still reads "4 minutes".

7. Linkin Park: One Step Closer

This song is good when commuters are one step closer to the edge of the platform but can't board because the train is full and they're about to break.

8. Rihanna: Wait Your Turn

Sensing the frustration, the busker can request people to wait their turn by playing this tune.

9. Maroon 5: Won't Go Home Without You

The busker can wait until the end of the night and run alongside commuters trying to catch the last train because if they don't, they really won't be going home without you, dear train.

10. The Beatles: Don't Let Me Down

Life comes full circle back to The Beatles again as this song will be played when commuters start streaming into the station and begin noticing the dreaded signs that the train has broken down.
