Otter-spotting on our brick-and-mortar island has always gotten Singaporeans very excited.
So much so that National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan recently even urged Singaporeans to embrace a species of smooth-coated otters believed to have migrated from Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Even though otter sightings have become more common in Singapore as a result of habitat loss up north, it is still rare to see so many of them at one go.
In a video uploaded a month ago on March 10, 2014, that was what precisely happened as a family of otters were spotted at Pasir Ris making a run for it at the waterway:
