Out with the old and in with the new.
It appears that Sparky, the first dog to play StarHub's mascot, was in need of a new home recently.
Need a reminder of who we're talking about? This might ring a bell:

In a posting on Pets Channel, it was revealed that Sparky, whose real name is Tracy and touted as the “Ex StarHub ad model”, has been re-homed twice in the past two years.
Despite her universal appeal, her original owner’s husband does not appear to be a big fan of the pooch and was released to run free on her own.

(Pets Channel has put up a note on the page saying Tracy is NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. This is presuming she has already been adopted.)
StarHub might not be aware of the original Sparky’s plight as they have an ongoing campaign featuring, presumably, a different Sparky. The campaign is asking users to submit their interpretations of Sparky for different occasions such as Christmas or Chinese New Year. How about one interpreting retirement?
StarHub’s community manager, who is known as Howard, is a big fan of Sparky having posted an article to highlight Sparky's thrust into the limelight.
Howard regales readers about how Sparky was originally conceptualised ten years ago and her journey to promote StarHub as a telco of repute –- talk about tugging at the heartstrings.
It is sad to see that the original Sparky, who tickled our hearts, is not enjoying the same happiness she brought to us.
