1. Saga seeds
Saga seeds came before the Twilight saga, and needless to say, they are way, way better than the Twilight saga.
These old school saga seeds said it all to the other party.
We used to personally collect saga seeds off the ground, and looked forward to giving that special someone a random saga seed that we found. It felt like we struck gold if we found a saga tree near our house or school.
People still love saga seeds, because some are even selling a bottle of over 2000 saga seeds for $88 online.
But hey, if you ever do decide to buy these seeds instead of picking them up personally –
2. Folded plastic straw hearts
Thank you McDonald’s, for the lovely straws. But no thank you with regards to your candlelight dinner offer.
Here’s how to make one if you have forgotten.
3. Paper stars
Receiving hundreds of these folded stars felt great, but unconsciously flattening them and then puffing them up again felt just as good.
4. Handwritten letters
No, crushed up notes thrown around in class isn’t classy enough. We begged our friends to teach us how to fold the letters, and never stopped once we started. Such notes were sent only about a billion times in one class alone. How many have you actually collected over the years?
These handwritten letters took the form of heart shapes during Valentine’s Day of course.
5. Lots and lots of hearts
Heart shaped paperclips! (Real handy when you forget to get Valentine’s Day presents ahem.)
These balloon hearts which only required a plastic stick attached to them.
6. Chocolates and sweets
There will always be that one thoughtful, sweet and nice (the list goes on) friend back in school who would take the effort to buy some sweets and maybe include a little “Happy Valentine’s Day!” note on our tables.
Well friend –
For a while we were also fascinated with these sweets instead:
And found ourselves in a sticky situation after all the Valentine’s Day munchies.
7. Really, really cheesy pick up lines
Here’s one for those with exchange students in their school:
And not to forget the classic:
The modern pick-up lines aren’t really any less cheesier.

8. Flowers (always work)
When in doubt, buy flowers. Roses are plentiful of course. But there were also flowers from Ikea, and paper roses for the guys who were willing to go the extra mile.
9. Scrapbooks/Art & Craft
Extremely time consuming, but most of us have probably done it at least once. The pretty prints sold at PaperMarket, Paperchase and Borders (the original Borders of course) made our lives so much easier.
These papers easily made us all look pretty darn artistic.
10. Couple shirts
No matter what everyone else says or how much they judge!
Yeah… just don’t get overly cheesy I guess.
11. Homemade food
Source
Gummy bear cookies!
Of course you have to finish off with a nice packaging, and we have all taken the pain to draw that special someone something.
Can’t draw? Okay maybe just this will do:
12. Watching the movie that was just screaming out at us
And reliving scenes from old movies
13. Attempt some sewing
Probably the only sewing we ever did outside of mandatory Home Economics classes. Sew sweet.
14. Couple rings
There was a period of time couple rings were all the hype. Because if you liked it then you should've put a ring on it! With each other’s names engraved or something.
Couple lab, anyone?
But if you prefer to spend next year's Valentine's Day with someone else, give these presents instead.
