Update Dec. 10, 2013: Fish & Co Singapore apologised late yesterday for running this meal advertisement on its Facebook page and took full responsibility for the advertisement. They added that they did not "deliberately attempt to trivialize the situation". They said they removed the post once they received negative feedback from their fans.

How far should a business go riding on a social media wave? We'd never know till the backlash begins, it seems.
Fish & Co's latest promotional advertisement for its Bombay Fish and Chips -- which came out on Dec. 9 at about 4pm -- tried latching onto the Little India riot (advertisement above and originally found here).
And the reaction was obviously less than ideal:
Fish & Co has since taken down the advertisement from their Facebook page after posting it up for less than an hour.
This is quite similar to McDonald's haze advertisement, which resulted in them issuing an apology as many Singaporeans deemed it distasteful during the hazy month this year.
