Animal welfare group Save Our Street Dogs (SOSD) has cut the cord of its SOS hotline three months after setting it up.

This after the group was inundated with calls from the public who seek help for the caretaking of their family pets to asking for help to subsidise vet bills.

SOSD was set up in July 2011 in response to the growing number of strays being culled due to urbanisation.

They are not even supposed to be dealing with house pets.

Currently, the group can still be contacted via email and they operate with the help of volunteers.

One of its upcoming plans is to raise $5 million to build a new shelter to hold up to 150 dogs as the group’s current shelter lease will expire in 2014..

Their upcoming flag day event will be held on 10 November at *Scape.

For those of you who are thinking of buying a dog, you really shouldn't if you catch yourself thinking of any of these 25 reasons as legitimate justifications:
