Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi arrived in Singapore shortly after 1pm on Friday to begin her 5-day visit here.
This is the Nobel peace laureate's first visit to Singapore.
Former Foreign Minister George Yeo received Ms Suu Kyi at the airport and welcomed "Daw Suu to sunny Singapore".
Mr Yeo is the conference chairman of the Singapore Summit. Ms Suu Kyi will be giving a Keynote Address "Myanmar in Transition" at the conference today.

In the afternoon, Ms Suu Kyi met with Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Grace Fu at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ms Fu reaffirmed the long-standing friendship between Singapore and Myanmar.

On Ms Fu's Facebook, Ms Fu said that Ms Suu Kyi "spoke with conviction about her hopes for the country and the people".

Ms Suu Kyi attended the Singapore Summit Welcome Dinner, where Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong delivered the Summit Keynote Address.
In an interview with regional journalists at the Istana, PM Lee said that Singapore would work with whichever is the legitimate government of Myanmar and added that Ms Suu Kyi would be a "capable leader of her country".
