Here in Singapore, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has taken to social media like a fish in water.
Across the Causeway, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has been setting social media abuzz for all the wrong reasons.
Here are 9 reasons why it is always good to be a Prime Minister adept at using social media:
1. Or else you will look silly.
Everyone knows Mark Zuckerberg is from Friendster.
Ok, to be fair, PM Najib has since apologised, clarifying that "the meeting with Mark was at FB Hq!" (But that tweet seems to have mysteriously disappeared.)
He was on a three-day working visit to the Silicon Valley and spent half a day at the social media giant's' head office in Menlo Park.
2. You can write geeky stuff and get praised.

Meanwhile, in Singapore, PM Lee took to Facebook to commend a cartoonist for accurately portraying a mathematical equation.
PM Lee solves mathematical questions online for fun. And his hobby is "tinkering with computers".
Wait a minute. Shouldn't it be "formulae" instead of "formulas"? Anyway...
3. Or else you get turned into a meme.
PM Najib is not quite experienced with protocol in international summits.
4. You can conduct diplomacy publicly over Twitter.

5. You try to be cool.

But you better make sure you get your spelling right.
Oppa Gangam style!
6. You can openly show you know the trends.

And have a few light-hearted moments here and there.
7. Or else, other people will have a light-hearted moment at your expense.

Wondering why you feature a photo of you standing in awkward positions in front of a known adulterer.
8. Because your other offline campaigns are anti-social, alienating and frowned upon.
9. You really want to differentiate yourself from your predecessors.
Or else you will forever be standing in the shadows of giants.
