Wedding gatecrash bar just raised: Get 512 Facebook Likes to marry your bae

Whatever happened to good ol' chilli padi/tabasco cocktails and eating toothpaste-filled Oreos?

Wedding gatecrash challenges are rather unique to Singapore. No one knows for sure how it started. Some say it is a tradition from the Cantonese. Others say it was popularised when some pre-2000 Hong Kong drama featured gatecrashing games during a wedding.

The opinion on wedding gatecrashes are split. Some love it because it can be an avenue for some fun to make the occasion more memorable, while others detest it and question its necessity.

Many also wonder why the challenges are getting more and more outrageous. Recently, an ambulance had to be called for a gatecrasher after he downed some Doomsday chilli for a gatecrash challenge.

This morning, another wedding gatecrash challenge went viral. Because it literally had to go viral for the groom to successfully 'fetch' his bride.

The groom posted a photograph of himself around 7:00 a.m. with a caption "Please give me 512 likes for me to get married to my bae".

It is unclear how long it took for him to hit 512 Facebook Likes on this photograph, but comments on the post suggest that he did it within an hour:

Here are a few questions we have:

Did he have to chill outside the gate for an hour to wait for the 512 Likes?

Did he miss any important Feng Shui timing because of this?

What would've happened if he couldn't get 512 Likes?

Is he going to get any special bonus for garnering more than 1,000 Likes?
